Why is asbestos sampling done?

Asbestos sampling allows us to determine the type of asbestos that we have to deal with inside the building of our client or the site on which a planned project is about to be constructed after the existing building gets demolished.

Asbestos can remain as a contaminant inside a structure or on the soil of a project site in various forms and they could be as follows –

  • Powdered asbestos
  • Asbestos fibres
  • Fire damaged asbestos or
  • Large-to-medium-sized chunks of asbestos-containing building materials.

Each of the above-mentioned types of asbestos needs to be dealt with using different mitigation procedures. If proper processes are not followed then the contamination process won’t be carried out as per the guideline set by the Australian authorities.

Why is it critical to remove asbestos from properties?

  • Asbestos is carcinogenic.
  • Prolonged exposure can lead to a myriad of respiratory illnesses.
  • Asbestos exposure can also lead to mesothelioma – the medical term for tumours that manifests in the tissue lining of lungs, stomach, heart and other major organs.
